National Fluid Power Association selects Members Only and Orchid

(Members Only Software, Inc.)NFPA is the Milwaukee-based trade association of the fluid power industry - representing manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, and educators. The association plays a key role in this industry, promoting standards development, improving educational opportunities, and interfacing with policy makers.

A central goal of the system conversion is to unify the in-house association management system, currently built from multiple packages and custom-developed applications. In addition, the association is hoping to provide closer integration between the internal and public-facing aspects of the information system. Key capabilities will be membership management, meetings and events management, e-commerce, standards tracking, and fundraising.

In case you are wondering,  the term Fluid Power refers to any technology transmitting energy or controlling motion through a pressurized liquid or gas - so it refers to both hydraulic as well as pneumatic devices. It's a technology that has been around for a long time - but in conjunction with current breakthroughs in electronics, fluid power devices can  integrated with sensors, transducers, and  microprocessors, allowing new breakthroughs with widespread applications in manufacturing, transportation, aerospace, and other industries.
