Regional Art Museum wins the Members Only GiveAway
Monday, November 26, 2007
The Members Only Team has
awarded the third of our "Software GiveAways"
to the Danforth Museum of
Framingham Massachusetts. This
thirty-year old museum has an extensive
art education program of over 100 classes for
both adults and children.
In addition to its permanent collection
specializing in 19th and 20th
century American Art, the museum has a library
of over 4000 volumes and
hosts numerous special exhibitions every
year.
Interestingly, the Museum has opted to
build its system on Members Only for the Y: we
realized early in our conversation with them
that they have a parallel set of needs,
printing scannable member cards, checking for
membership at entry, managing a complex
curriculum, and advancing a very active
development effort. We expect to install the
system in March of
2008.
Periodically, Members Only donates its software to a small non-profit with the potential to grow but whose the revenue and assets do not allow them to invest in the technology they need to support that growth. Winners must still pay for all services we provide - unfortunately we can only give away the base software modules. Each time we announce a GiveAway Contest, we select a particular theme. The first was Disability Rights, and the winner was UCP Michigan. The second was Environment and Conservation, and the winner was The Ocean Foundation. This most recent was for Organizations in the Arts. In early 2008, we'll be announcing our next Contest. We'll keep you posted.
